Why I'm deciding to go Vegan

Yeah, when you think of vegan most people think:

Well, it's not always "stereo typical". I certainly do not see myself that way... I've decided to go vegan for many reasons that I wanted to list in hopes to inform and inspire others.

First reason:

I've lost over 80 lbs and I feel that I'm in control of my food choices and my food no longer controls me. I feel empowered to actually to do something that I've always wanted to try. I really want to give veganism a chance and to eat a plant based diet to optimize my health and weight loss

Second Reason:

I'm so tired of the food industry is in the US. They force processed food down our throats with commercials, processed crap in our foods, and just constantly pushing fast food in our diets. I want to fight that. I want to eat how humans are supposed to eat and not cheap for profit processed foods. I want to eat whole foods that are plant based and reach optimal health.

Third Reason:

It's super healthy! I need to focus on eating more veggies, fruits and grains for my diet. Currently, I eat keto, and its just meat and cheese. Long term effects of keto can cause heart and cholesterol problems. I don't eat enough carbs and its causing my body to stall up on my weight loss. I do plan to still cut out breads, pastas, rice and completely making this a plant based whole foods diet.

Fourth reason:

I have the Mthfr mutation gene (compound heterozygous). This is a long story but it's hard for my body to detox out processed food, chemicals, and folic acid. So going to a whole food plant based diet will work wonders for my body so that I can also reach optimal health!

Fifth reason:

Animals! Last but certainly not least, I would be doing living creatures a favor. This is the most obvious reason so I saved it for last. I'm not okay with how the animals are treated and processed to feed the hungry mass of carnivore humans. I just don't like following the band wagon. I don't support animal cruelty.

Now that you know my reasons, I hope that this is insightful for you. I don't expect anyone to do this with me, nor do I want to food shame. This is something empowering that I want to take on an do. This is not going to be easy by any means but I do plan wean myself off dairy first by doing a liquid cleanse for two days at the start of my no dairy diet. In 2 weeks after having no dairy, I will do another 2 day cleanse and then last but not least, rid myself of meat.

We are all human so on occasion I may treat myself to some steak since its one of my favorite meals, but I want to treat it like birthday cake. Every once in a while I will treat myself if I feel it's necessary. Everything is good in moderation.
