Eating carbs and weight loss stalls

Eating carbs and weight loss stalls

I’ve been having a weight loss stall and I believe it’s attributed to not eating enough carbs, calories but all the while being active and working out. Not giving my body the fuel it needs, is putting it in starvation mode. So this week I’m going to be incorporating healthy carbs in my diet on work out days more and then do lower carb days.

My meals for my low carb days will be

Breakfast: 1 egg scrambled no milk 1 scoop of gene pro mixed in 8oz’s of a zero calorie zero sugar drink. 2 small cubes of honeydew or healthy fruit of choice

Snack: low fat, low moisture skim cheese

Lunch: Skinny Keto bell pepper boats Homemade garlic green beans Possible small side of fruit

Snack: low fat, low moisture skim cheese

Dinner: Skinny keto bell pepper boat

On my carb days I will be doing the same except I will be adding some mushroom barley that I made to breakfast, and lunch to add more healthy carbs and fiber.

Breakfast: 1 egg scrambled no milk 1 scoop of gene pro mixed in 8oz’s of a zero calorie zero sugar drink. 2oz of mushroom barley

Snack: 2 small cubes of honeydew or healthy fruit of choice

Lunch: Skinny keto bell pepper boats 1 oz mushroom barley Possible small side of fruit

Snack 2: 10 almonds or cheese stick (no carbs after 4pm)

Dinner: Skinny keto bell pepper boat

Switching between carb days and low carb days, will help boost my metabolism and help it burn more fat. By adding the barley or quinoa to my diet, it will boost my fiber and carb intake so that my metabolism stays high and doesn’t go into starvation mode when I work out! Our bodies fight to be stable, and sometimes we need to mix it up to keep our fat burning furnace to keep going at full potential.

I’ve learned a lot about carbs in the last 5 1/2 months. We can’t completely avoid them and work out. Our bodies need a little of everything in the right amounts to maximize our metabolism and for daily functions. If your in a stall, and avoid all carbs, it is likely that you are depriving yourself. Try adding some healthy carbs and fiber into your diet every other day to see if this helps with your stall.

I do recommend checking out Chris Powell’s carb cycling books for more info on carb cycling cycling and metabolisms.
